Vaccines for Kittens & Cats

Protect your pet from deadly diseases with a vaccination plan.

A variety of diseases affect our pets and other animals. This makes proper vaccination vital in protecting them from the many illnesses they are susceptible to. It's important to consult with us about our region's unique risks. We will be happy to discuss the benefits of protecting your pet with vaccinations and provide you with information on the required vaccinations for your pet.

When should my cat be vaccinated?

Vaccinations should start as early as 6 to 8 weeks old. This is because maternal antibodies aren't effective for long. Your kitten will get different doses until they are 16 weeks old. A year after completing their kitten series, your pet will need booster vaccines. Our team will recommend the boosters that your pet needs.

Which vaccines will my cat need?

Vaccines for pets fall into two categories: core and non-core. Core vaccines are recommended for all cats, while non-core are recommended for specific cats with more exposure risks.

Core vaccines for cats and kittens include FVRCP (Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, and Panleukopenia) and Rabies. These vaccines protect your pet from fatal diseases that affect the respiratory and nervous systems.

Some non-core vaccines include Bordetella, Feline Leukemia, and Feline Chlamydia.

Do indoor cats need vaccines?

Yes! This is a common misbelief that being indoors means your cat is protected from diseases and vaccines aren't necessary. Even though your pet is more protected indoors, they can still get diseases from humans and other pets that enter your home.
