Dr. Elva Ma

Hi, I’m Dr. Ma! I am so thrilled to be back as Medical Director of Wellesley Animal Hospital. I graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph in 2008. I helped to build our hospital in 2011, and am so proud of the growth and relationships we have built with pets in the Yonge and Wellesley community since then. During the pandemic, I took a break from general practice for 2 years to focus on shelter medicine and public veterinary access at the Toronto Humane Society, as well as serve on the Board of Directors at Annex Cat Rescue.

I hope to bring some of my newfound insights and perspectives to Wellesley as we continue to service pets and their parents in our own community. I have a love of all things dentistry and surgery, and am excited for the chance to mentor our newest veterinarians to develop their skills in these areas.

On a personal note, I share my life with my husband, daughter, rescue kitty Ivy, and a rotation of foster rabbits. I love music and going to live events, and am starting to learn the violin.
